A Great Life

I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I have a great life.
I have great friends and I love my family. I know I have talked about these three people a few times lately but, how can I help it when they are my three best friends and keep me laughing and smiling.
I have my best friend Garrett who lives here in Utah and I look up to him with lots of of respect. I have my sister Samantha and how our bond is getting closer and it is a good life with her. I have my cousin Corbin who I adore and he helps me to connect with my inner child more then I know how to by myself.

Example One...
Samantha recently invited me, Garrett and Jordan to go to the temple to walk the grounds and just be there. We did not go inside but, we were there just feeling the peace the temple brings. Of course we all decided to go but, we all probably went for different reasons maybe some just to go and others to find peace and maybe one of us to think about the future and what it might hold. We all went for different reasons but, we all came home happier and feeling more calm then we did before. Samantha and I also went on a walk recently and though it was cold we still went on a walk when I originally had no clue why we were going outside in the cold but, we went out into the wind and just talked. Communication is a great thing:) We had some fun walking around talking bout school and everything in our lives. I like that it because we only have some much time before she will go on a mission and we can't do that for a long time.

Example Two...
Corbin and my inner child that he releases is way fun. Like for example when we play chess / checkers "Corbin's Way". This consists of me playing the two games by the actual rules and Corbin deciding he can place his pieces where-ever he wants and jumping over my pieces kills them. You can probably see the outcome of this strategy... Corbin will of course win every time which is fine by me. I do not complain but, I do tease him and try to jump over his pieces in which case he tells me it's "against the rules". I can always have fun with him and we can play tackle, chase, checkers, chess, etc.. I love him he makes me happy and makes me long to be a child again.

Example Three...
Friends, mainly Garrett Payne. I am not saying I do not have other friends because I do, I have plenty of other friends who I hang out with and be around but, its just Garrett has been my best friend and especially lately with all of my crazy schooling and such. I have been taught by this boy the meaning of patience and continuous love and kindness. We have many fun times together like playing ping pong, riding around in his cruiser, playing chase with his nieces and nephews, and so on and so fourth. He is my best friend who I know I can always count on. Having a best friend is great because you know you can always count on them to be there.

My life is great and I love the people I have in it. Yeah, I know I am slow to realizing some things in my life that I know I probably take for granted but, my family and my friends mean the very most to me along with my religion because, I know with out my Latter Day Saint background I would not be where I am today and I wouldn't have the great family and friends I have now. I love my life, I love the people in it even though sometimes we hurt each other and or fight I always know they still love me and I love them. Its a great life and I hope all of you out there can see what great lives you all have. Find the good in your life and hang on to it and don't let go. It's a great life and you only have one shot to live it so live it well.

Valentines Love (Friend Love)

Well its that time of the year that some people love and some people hate. It can be way fun and have multiple surprises but, some only notice it as Single Awareness day and feel bad for themselves and dread the day to come.
I look at it differently and in a bit of a different light. Valentines is not just a day to have a "significant other" "girlfriend" "boyfriend" or "someone special of the opposite gender". It's also a day where you can love and recognize everyone you have in your life and those that love you. So here I go, I am going to recognize a few friends that are my closest friends who I give a shout out of great thanks for loving me and all I am so here I go.... My "Valentine Loves"

My Sister Samantha
My sister has always been there, we are only 13 months apart in age and so we have grown up right next to each other all our lives. Yes, of course we fought in our lives but, I feel that her and I are closer now then we have ever been. Since she will be going on a mission it will be interesting to not have her here and see her go but, it will not change out strong sister love. We talk about boys all the time and to those boys out there... you hurt me Samantha will come after you, you hurt Samantha I will hunt you down and come after you, enough said. We are always there for each other and always goofing off when we have the time with our two very crazy schedules.
Thanks Samantha, I love you.

Garrett Payne
There is so much I could say about this boy. He has not only been a great friend to me but, to my sister Samantha and to my family. He is literally like a big brother to my siblings and they love it. He is known in my family for his cars I will admit because we love to get rides...haha we love that he puts up with us. He watches after my sister at the high school since I am not there any longer and I appreciate that more then he probably realizes. If I ever have a problem or somethings wrong in my family I give one call or text to Garrett and he is there just to say hi real quick before work or even if I don't tell him somethings up he can tell and will drop things off at my house as a surprise for me, Samantha and my family. Hes a joy to be around and helps out everyone around him.
Thanks Garrett, we love you.

Sam Eversole
We have had our ups and downs in our friendship but, I have always known I can turn to Sam Eversole, just to talk and like we do we will just sit in his car and talk usually to hide from my siblings otherwise he gets attacked by them because they like seeing him. I know this doesn't happen often but, when it does, we won't stop talking and I love it. Hes a great example of service and loving everyone and I like that about him. He has taught me to be a better person and to always remember to laugh and for that I am grateful. Thanks for putting up with me for the past few years we have known each other. Its been greatly appreciated by me and my family.
Thanks Sam, your amazing.

Whitney Hingson
Though her and I are apart most of our lives now, there is no doubt that we are always there for each other no matter what the circumstance. With the move to Virginia for her I feel as if our friendship has only become better and more strong. Of course it is hard to work around schedules and always find time but, we manage. I don't know what I would do without Whitney in my life. She has taught me so much through all we have done. We get together and we will cause chaos and even freak friends out by "breaking in and burning a friends house down...." We always find fun, and I have learned to have fun. Lets keep it going for many years to come.
Thanks Whitney, I love you.

Sam James
The definition of determination, Sam James. I have never met anyone so determined to get things done and to endure so much while in the process of getting something done. I will admit this boy has taught me the definition of determination and following through. He knows how to have fun in any situation and likes to dance. His dancing is something he has tried to teach me but, I have two left feet and can't dance but, I have so much fun trying. Sam is a great singer and as helped me to come closer to Christ by taking me many weeks in a row to tunnel singing and I will forever be grateful for those moments. He is a wonderful and diligent young man who has helped me to come closer to my family and friends and has helped me to relax by always being there and just letting me talk things out. Hes a great friend that anyone would love to have.
Thanks Sam, always remember who you are.

This may be but a few, but I hope that all of you out there that read this even if I haven't mentioned you, know that you are loved. You mean something to someone. So, this Valentines Day don't let it be just a dreaded day, or just another day, tell the people that you love that they mean something to you, that you love them for who they are. I hope you all have a good Valentines day. Love you all.

The College Life Short

Well Everyone I know I haven't posted on this in forever but life became crazy. I am now currently in college at UVU and I am enjoying every minute of it. I have been helping the UVUSA (Utah Valley University Student Associations) aka the student government plan dances, and other activities at the school. Which in a week we have UVU pride week and I am excited for the many activities that will end up happening that week:) I have also made lots of new friends whose names are to name a few: Nic Slater, Jakell Larsen, Rilee Stone, Marie Squires, Aaron, Logan, Kelsey, Claire, Kaylee, Rebecca, Olivia, Kyle, Josh, Sophia, Jake Sorenson, and Lindsey.

Nic, Rilee, Jakell and Marie are all on the UVUSA and are in charge of me and what I do because I am a committee member and I obey them (they are like my boss...haha) ;) Aaron is also a committee member like me and we became friends through being on UVUSA. I will be honest I have so many friends for UVUSA and I am very grateful for that.
Kyle, Josh, Logan, Claire, and Kelsey I met at institute and all of them were in my Institute class last semester which was dating and courtship and now for my second semester I have Teachings of The Living Prophets. I love this class. I really didn't think that I would enjoy it but, I do. In just the first couple of weeks I have learned lots about the Prophets and different ways to look at their teachings. I really enjoy it.
As for the homework load.... well thats not as fun but, its alright:) At least I am learning something new everyday. I wouldn't change a thing about college except for maybe the price of it because it costs a lot but, I am getting a better education which is great.

I know this is short but, this is my college life in short. Oh and did I mention, Whitney came back for Christmas and we had an awesome time together! I loved seeing her again and I hated seeing her go! I can't wait till we see each other again.

Family Love

I had a fun break this Christmas and New Year because I got to see all of my family from my mothers side. What made it even better is that we surprised my grandparents with a session of family photos with all of us together. They originally didn't know that half the family was going to be coming up for the New Year until for Christmas they got a card and a frame telling them that we were all going to be with them on December 30 for family pictures. We all couldn't wait for this day to come and then finally it came and we had fun!

It was kind of an emotional photo shoot knowing that one of us wasn't there with us physically anymore. We also all knew that this would probably be one of our last times getting together for awhile because many of us will either be graduating, will be out on missions and some of us may get married.

Here are a few of the photos that were taken.

The ones who started it all because they fell in love...

Grandpa and Grandma

This is my Family.
Kaleb, Me, Abbie, Dad, Samantha, Mom and Wade

This is the whole entire Holt side.
Families are: Gina & Jeremy, Jennifer & Jeff, Rhonda & Vernon, and Brandy & Jeff

All 17 grand-kids with my grandparents.

This is Me

And of course I couldn't let the photo shoot end with out getting a photo with my best bud Corbin:)

Rose and Corbin

In short it was a great break and full of  family time. I love being with my family and spending time with them and I am so lucky that I get to see many of them often.

The Smiles and Things I've Noticed (Thank Yous)

There are many little things that this week I noticed more then I normally do and I think I usually just take for granite. I have so many wonderful friends who do the simplest of things that make my days a million times better and I want to point them out in this post.

Martin Wyall:
Wants me happy and is always caring. He helps me out in English class and also helps to lighten my load in choir class. He is always joking around just so he can attempt to hear me laugh. For Martin saying I'm Okay is not a good enough answer and instantly he wants to know how can he make me better or even great. He is also right there if I ever have a question and he will figure out an answer. Martin is good at making people smile and laugh and I watch him do it at school all the time to make others days better.
Thank You Martin.

Mason Thorpe:
Will text me just to make sure I'm alright. We may not talk long but in the end he has accomplished what I think is his personal mission, which is to make me smile. He takes time to listen even when he is crazy busy. Mason also makes sure everyone is happy at school and is friends to everyone its fun to watch him go around and cheer people up around the school.
Thank You Mason.

Sam Eversole:
Takes the simple few seconds to smile and wave at me in the halls at school. This helps me to know I have friends no matter where I go. It makes me happier to know that I have a friend like Sam anywhere I go and that he will smile. One of the simplest things but yet one of the most profound things a friend can do for a friend. He also cares for everyone around him and I see him care for others all the time at school.
Thank You Sam.

Whitney Hingson:
She has been with me through all of my high school years and has never let me down. Always no matter what the situation Whitney can usually make me laugh and smile. She takes the time to have fun with me. She and I have a great time playing games during lunch, talking about boys, laughing at our mistakes, and we must not forget going on our little "missions". She knows how to make people feel special and how to comfort and make people feel good about themselves while at school. Its my pleasure to be her friend and watch her make so many people feel happy daily.
Thank You Whitney.

Brandon Landis:
Smiles at me in choir class or will even do an occasional funny face in order to make me laugh while singing. This may be small and simple but it works and I appreciate his smile. I also watch as Brandon makes others happy during lunch time and talks with everyone and anyone around him.
Thank You Brandon.

Ashtyn Jones:
Always is asking me if I'm alright as school. She has a fun humor about her that I know by the time we are done talking we will be laughing at ourselves. We get to work together as TA's and it also gives us time to talk and help each other out. She is so caring about others around her and is always trying to make others happy at school. I love watching as she welcomes everyone into her circle of friends.
Thank You Ashtyn.

Megan Moss:
Is a friend who gives me support in all I do. She is a good listener and takes time to listen to my thoughts and I appreciate this a lot. She is open to ideas and she likes to be spontaneous like running in the sprinklers or creating box sleds. I like being around Megan for she is a good friend.
Thank You Megan.

Cutler Johnson:
Has an outgoing attitude and is funny. He was my partner in the Gershwin Swing Set that we sang at our choir concert. I have to say I had a blast acting and getting to know Cutler better. He knows how to make people smile no matter what. He is friends to all and he likes to make sure everyone is involved.
Thank You Cutler.

Ethan Blanchard:
He knows how to make everyone and anyone smile. He involves everyone and even though he may be on student council he still talks to me. He will say hi to me in the halls and in choir class and I appreciate that. Thank You Ethan.

Tagart McNeil:
Is friends to everyone and doesn't let his position at school decide who he will be around. He involves everyone and makes everyone feel welcome even me. I am a shy person and he takes the time to include me or even just smile at me or say hi and it makes all the difference. I like watching him at school and how he will talk with anyone or if he sees that someone is alone he will be that persons friend.
Thank You Tagart.

These are all small things that maybe all of you don't realize what a difference it can make in peoples lives, my life. The smallest of things make all the difference. I know I have friends and this is only a portion of the amazing things I see you all do in order to make a difference in someones life at OHS.
Thank You for changing my life and making it better.
I Love You all.

26: Happy Birthday to me. I turned 18 years old and Samantha took me out and got Jamba Juice and then Whitney stopped by to say hello and give me a present and then Martin surprised me and came over and gave me a present and said hello also. I was very grateful to the both of them for stopping by and just taking the time to say hello. Thank You.

29: My Great Grandpa Owen passed away at the age of 87.

31: Was a  princess for Halloween and Whitney came over and helped me hand out candy while we played Jacks (if you do not know what the game Jacks is then you need to play it sometime and start questioning what you did in your childhood) ;) Its a fun game even though Whitney won every time ;)

November so far:

1: Went to the last football game of the season for OHS and i think it was a great year of football. If you don't already know I love to watch football so I went to almost every game this season. Great Job this year boys! Loved coming to your games

4: Today was the funeral for my Great Grandpa and it is interesting to see so many Stouts who a lot of them I do not know.

Anyway, this is basically what has happened a simple version of what has gone on but it is still an update ;) I love you all and all the support that you have given me. Thanks for all you do. Also if you have any questions about things I have done feel free to ask I will answer. Thanks again.
